Tori Trades Trendline Strategy
(4H Price Action · Action Line · Safety Line)
A price-action strategy based on swing-trading trendlines.
No indicators — only clean trendlines, price structure, and simple risk management.
Built around two concepts :
- Action Line : The trendline used to enter
- Safety Line : The trendline used to exit or trail risk
Works on: Futures, Crypto, Forex
Primary timeframe: 4-Hour (with optional Daily/Weekly bias) :
1. Core Concepts
Action Line
- Bounce setups: the trendline that price respects
- Break setups: the broken trendline that triggers entry signal
Safety Line
- Bounce setups: same line as entry (if price closes through it, exit)
- Break setups: a new opposing trendline used to protect the trade
The space between Action Line and Safety Line defines risk.
2. Timeframes
- 4-Hour chart is the execution chart
→ filters noise, captures clean swing structure
- Daily/Weekly optional for directional context
3. Valid Setup Types
A) Trendline Bounce
Price taps a respected trendline and reverses off it.
Entry Criteria
- Trendline has 2–3 clean touchpoints minimum
- At least 1 week of price data between first touch and entry
- Enter when price taps/interacts with the trendline
Risk
- Action Line = Safety Line
- If price closes through the line → trade invalid
- Trail stop below/above new swing points as trend progresses
Notes
- Lowest risk setup in the model
- Works best on instruments that respect trendlines well
B) Trendline Break
Price breaks an established trendline, signaling reversal.
Two versions:
- 2-Touchpoint Break
- 3-Touchpoint Break
2-Touchpoint Break Rules
Requirements
- Action Line must have 2 clean touchpoints
- 1 week of price data between first touchpoint and break
- Break must happen close to Safety Line (tight risk)
- Safety Line must be clearly drawn before entering
If not, wait for new structure to form
Entry
- Enter once price breaks and closes beyond the Action Line
Invalidation
- Price closes back through Safety Line
Risk
- Safety Line stop
- Manually trail stop as new structure forms
3-Touchpoint Break Rules
Requirements
- Action Line must have 3+ clean touchpoints
- 1 week minimum between first touchpoint and break
- Break must be close to the Safety Line (tight risk)
Entry
- Enter after break and close beyond Action Line
- Must have a visible Safety Line before entry
Invalidation
- Price closes through Safety Line → exit
Risk
- Use Safety Line as stop
- Trail against structure as trend develops
4. Conditions & Ideal Markets
Works best on :
- Strongly trending instruments
- Metals, energy, and markets that respect geometric structure
Avoid:
- Instruments with frequent false breaks
- Choppy ranges
5. Exit Rules
Bounce trades:
- Exit on full candle close through trendline (Action/Safety Line)
Break trades:
- Exit on full candle close through Safety Line
Trailing Stops:
- Adjust based on new swing highs/lows
- Never set stops exactly at entry (allow breathing room)
6. Pros & Cons
Pros
- Pure price action (no indicators)
- Clear, rule-based entries & exits
- Works across instruments
- Naturally reinforces discipline
- Repeatable process that can be tracked & backtested
Cons / Reality Notes
- Requires patience (setups take days to form)
- Timing entries is discretionary
- Not all markets respect trendlines equally
- Fakeouts are normal — risk management is crucial
7. Strategy Goal
Capture swing reversals or continuations with tight risk using:
- Structured trendlines
- Clean touch validation
- Simple invalidation logic
- Tight, clearly-defined risk windows
Small number of trades — high conviction setups only.
