Intraday Liquidity & Volatility Strategy
A trading model built around daily directional bias, session liquidity sweeps, and confirmation triggers from FVGs, Market Structure Shifts, divergence, or breaker blocks. The goal is to let the market grab stop-liquidity first, then react — entering only after confirmation — to trade either the reversal or continuation. Works intraday, but can also be applied to swing trades when higher timeframes align.
1. Core Concept
Liquidity sits above highs and below lows — especially:
- Previous Day’s High/Low
- Asian Session High/Low
- London Session High/Low
Price often raids these zones, triggering stops, then either sharply reverses or continues strongly.
We do not predict the move ahead of time — we wait for a raid, then confirmation.
2. Daily Bias Comes First
Using the Daily Chart:
- Decide if the market is *bullish or bearish today
- Consider swing highs/lows, inefficiencies, and where price is likely headed
This bias is the foundation for the rest of the model.
3. Use Session Liquidity Zones
Mark these before NY Open:
- Previous Day’s High/Low
- Asian High/Low
- London High/Low
These are common stop pockets and traps.
We want New York session to raid one of them.
4. Mandatory Liquidity Raid
For a setup to be valid :
- Price must sweep a key session level during New York session (9:30–11:30 AM EST)
This confirms liquidity was taken and stop orders were triggered.
5. Confirmation Entry Triggers (Lower TF)
After the sweep, wait for ONE of these :
- Fair Value Gap (FVG)
- Market Structure Shift (MSS)
- Turtle Soup / failed breakout
- Breaker Block
Only enter once the confirmation is present :
- 15m or 5m chart preferred
6. Entry Logic
- Enter AFTER liquidity raid + confirmation trigger
- Trade fits daily bias (bearish → short; bullish → long)
- Never enter before sweep
Entry Style Examples
- Enter short after liquidity taken above a high + bearish FVG rejection
- Enter long after liquidity taken below a low + bullish shift/retest
Stops:
- Just above the sweep high for shorts
- Just below the sweep low for longs
7. Target Mapping
Intraday Targets
- Opposite session liquidity
- FVGs
- Equal highs/lows
Swing Targets
- Higher timeframe liquidity (daily/weekly levels)
- Imbalances
- Major structure zones
If momentum slows near midday, exit early.
8. Time Window Matters
All setups should occur between :
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM EST
This is where volatility and liquidity interactions are clearest.
9. Psychology & Probabilities
Pros:
- Simple repeating logic
- Based on real market mechanics
- Works on futures, forex, crypto
- Highly time-efficient
- Scales from intraday to swing
Cons:
- Requires patience after raid
- Confirmation needs judgment
- Best when trader can monitor sessions
- Journaling builds confidence
- Timing exits requires experience
10. Goal of the Model
Not to chase trend tops or bottoms blindly — but wait for liquidity removal first, then take a disciplined, high-probability trade in line with:
- Daily bias
- Confirmation
- Logical targets
Clean, consistent trading — one day at a time.
